New Moon in Cancer

As the Moon moves through her phases each month, she also moves through the Zodiacs each month. One of her two most important phases, the New Moon is happening right now. Her other important phase, obviously the Full Moon, and the New Moon are both electrically charged potential that we can use to our own benefits.

When we have a New Moon in a certain Zodiac sign, we can align our intentions to receive the best possible results. We just need to know the symbolism of each of the signs in order to make them work in our favour. Todays New Moon in Cancer is supposed to be very beneficial.

During a New and Full Moon, it is thought that our emotions are pulled to the surface and our feelings are heightened. Research tells us that us humans are reacting to the subtle changes in the Earth's magnetic field that occur during the Lunar cycle.

As Cancer rules our emotions, now is the time to sit with our emotions for a while and truly listen to them. What are they telling you? Is there something you are truly desiring, something you really want to change in your life? After you've focused on your emotions it is time for a little New Moon ritual to get the best out of today.

Take a bath or shower and let all your worries wash away. Burn incense, or palo santo (or both!). If you have an altar or sacred space, you could decorate it with herbs and flowers, crystals and feathers. Do some grounding meditation or breath work for 5 to 10 minutes while you call in the powers of the Moon to bless and protect.

You can then start your manifestation for this Lunar cycle. Write down your intentions. Consider your values and what is important to you. Fold down the piece of paper. Pick a crystal you are intuitively drawn to (don't overthink it!) and cleanse the crystal in your preferred way - that could be with sound, smoke, water (if the crystal is water-safe), or any other way you usually do it. Once your crystal is cleansed, hold it in your dominant hand while you say what you've written down out loud. Repeat it a couple of times to instil the intention in you and attach it to the stone. Place the crystal on top of the folded paper and keep it there for the whole Lunar cycle, where you can see it and get reminded of your intentions.
